Gate to Sahara
With Laghouat, Sahara starts. It is a real desert town, and if you stop here, there are a few sights, like the Marabout of Sidi Muhammad Ben Abdelqadir. Walking around the town, feeling the atmosphere, or exploring the oasis, will be very satisfying for people visiting the Sahara for the first time.
Eat and Sleep A couple of hotels, and about as many restaurants. Budget travellers will probably settle for the hostel, and basic eateries in town.
Transportation Good connections to a large number of other places, with either bus or taxi.
