King of Ancient Egypt 1786-1777 BCE, 9 years, the 7th ruler of the 12th Dynasty.
Prior to ascending the throne, he served as a co-regent of Amenemhet 3. He completed the temple known today as Medinet Madi, in the Fayoum Oasis.
His reign was peaceful and uneventful, and the decline of the Middle Kingdom appears not to have begun before after his death.
According to some theories, he is suggested to have been the historical Moses.
He was was preceded by Amenemhet 3 and succeded by his half-sister, Sobeknefru.
