Emir
Arabic: 'amīr

Honorary title in Arabic for a person holding a special position or having some specific leadership in society, whether military or politically. Often the title is connected to a Muslim leader.
Emir is also often used as the Arabic equivalent to "prince." It can also refer to some descendants of Muhammad. 'Emir' is also used for tribal chiefs.
Today, the most known emirs are the leaders of Arabic states along the Persian Gulf, in Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (where there are 7 of them).
