DemographicsDetailed article
With comparison tables for all countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

Through the 20th century, the population of Jordan doubled 11 times, which represents fast growth. But behind these figures there are many factors beyond simply fertility rates and health issues: The influx of refugees, first from Turkey, later Palestine and now in recent years, from Iraq.
Population growth rate is 2.0% per year as of 2009, which involves a fairly fast growth of population. There are no dramatic figures, whether the fertility rate at 2.4 children or a median age 24 years. Births to deaths rate is quite high, 7 births per 1 death case.
Projections set the 2050 population at 11 million, figures which ar dramatic for a country like Jordan, which has since long overstretched its water resources.
More information of demography is found in other Jordan articles about ethnic composition, first languages spoken and religious adherence. There is also information relevant to demographics under education and health.
