Muslim Brotherhood - Saudi Arabia
Arabic:
ikhwānu l-muslimīn

Saudi Arabian Islamist organization started by Egyptian religious/political dissidents in 1954.
The brothers soon came under the protection of the Saudi king, and were given funds to start their own university in Madina. From this setting, the King gave them permission to carry out charitable activity.
The Brotherhood of Saudi Arabia never became a mass movement nor was it strongly politicized, and it has always maintained good relations with the royal family.
HISTORY
1954: Hundreds of Egyptian Brotherhood members flee to Saudi Arabia.
1961: After the brothers manage to convince King Sa'ud that president Nasser misused the al-Azhar University in Cairo, they are given funds to start the Islamic University in Madina.
