Zurvanism

Sect inside the Zoroastrian tradition, belonging to the time of the Sassanids (226- 651 CE).
Zurvanism addressed a solution to what was a monotheistic problem of Zoroastrianism. They came to explain that time, Zurvan, was the father of everything, both of the good force, Ahura Mazda and the negative force, Ahriman. With this theological approach, Ahura Mazda was freed of all responsibility of the existence of the evil.
Zurvanism would not survive as a religious orientation, and its contemporary influence is hard to assess, but may not have been great.
