ASWAN:
Elephantine. Aswan Museum

Aswan, Egypt

Aswan, Egypt

Aswan, Egypt

The Aswan Musuem, next to the ruins of Yebu on Elephantine, is a small museum. Its exhibits specialize in antiquities from Aswan and Nubia, many saved before the construction of the oldest Aswan Dam.
Much of the space is devoted to items that may seem insignificant to most visitors, but which shed light on the history of Yebu.
More attention is given to the sarcophagi and mummies. One mummy is a sacred ram, the animal of Khnum, the rest of members of the elite of that time.
Admission is EŁ10, opening hours 7.00-16.00 every day, open until 17.00 through summer.
