Although being among the least remembered pharaoh, Siptah's tomb is appealing and interesting. His reign was short (1210-1204 BCE), and among the more noticeable elements of his life is that he had a crippled leg, which also is clearly from his mummy. The layout is simple, but the tomb digs about 100 metres into the mountain. The corridors are nicely painted, but the hall and antechamber are undecorated. The burial chamber is slightly rough in appearance, with 4 pillars and the pink sarcophagus slightly to the left. Probably sometime 150 years after his death, the mummy was moved to the tomb of Amenophis 2.
