PHILAE
Kiosk of Trajan

Philae, Egypt

The pavillion or kiosk of Trajan was never finished, but is among the most favoured photo objects at Philae. It stands quite alone, leaning over the water. It is one of the finest single structures built by the command of a Roman ruler in the times of Ancient Egypt.
There are a few reliefs finished in the kiosk, showing Trajan making offerings to Isis, Osiris and Horus.
