The Palace of the Dux, the Byzantine governor of Apollonia, was perhaps the largest palace in Cyrenaica, with more than 100 rooms. The first room you enter was the library, where you can easily spot the large shelves used for large books.
In the palace complex, is the fifth church of Apollonia. The eastern wing had alone 83 rooms, intended for employees in the palace.
