SABRATHA /
Temples and basilicas

Sabratha, Libya

Temple of Isis.

Temples and basilicas of Sabratha look very much the same, being in rectangular shape and with rows of columns.
The finest temple today, is the Temple of Isis, isolated out east from town centre. Commemorating the Egyptian goddess, she was the protector of sailors.
The Justinian's basilica was built as a church in the 6th century. The church's mosaics are now found in the Roman Museum.

Sabratha, Libya

Justinian's basilica.
