SLONTA /
Old Libyan ruins

Slonta, Libya

Slonta, Libya

Greek and Roman ruins are found all along the Libyan coast. But little else is found of the architecture built by the original population of Libya, before the advent of Islam.
At the present Slotna is the only exception. The temple found near the village of Slotna is beautiful, but little has been done to meet an audience, as figures and statues are lying unorganized on the ground around the temple. What kind of cult was practiced here in the temple, is close to unknown today. It is expected that there are more ruins belonging to the same old town, close to the temple.

Eat and Sleep
There are no hotels or restaurants near the temple.

Transportation
Buses, or better, taxis to and from al-Bayda.
