Martil is both Tetouan's university area as well as local summer resort or escape. Located just a 20 minute taxi ride from Tetouan centre, it is easy to get here.
The beach is clean, people are ordinary friendly Moroccans who try to figure out ways to practice their natural hospitality. But nothing here ever gets to be annoying, and Martil is definately a place where any woman can feel free from any kind of problems she might expect elsewhere in Morocco. At night, Martil becomes a young people's hangout, and has a night life that goes on from right before sunset until sometimes as late as 24.00.
