TAFRAOUTE:
The blue stones

Tafraoute, Morocco

Tafraoute, Morocco

Having a car in and around Tafraoute, is essential. Most of the things here can be reached by foot, but if you don’t have more than a couple of days, driving saves you from walks that aren’t that great after all.
Belgian artist Jean Verame painted in 1984 rocks in blue (!) colour, in an area some kilometres away from the centre. But today its faded, and disappointing compared to has been done in the mountains of Tibesti in Tchad. So stick to nature it self, and two days are minimum when you're in Tafraoute.
