BULLA REGIA:
Practicalities

Jendouba, Tunisia

Jendouba.

HOTELS AND ALTERNATIVES
There is nothing to be found in Bulla Regia itself (there is a tiny village nearby), but Jendouba 15 km south has 2 hotels. Both are quite uninspired places. Value for money is not good for the best hotels.

RESTAURANTS AND ALTERNATIVES
Quite OK restaurants in Jendouba, but do go for your dinner at Hotel Atlas; the place has what must be one of the best cooks in Tunisia! (Do not be scared by the burn holes in the table cloths and the Russian mafia boss-looking waiter). There are many cheap and basic places, too, but you will not save many dinars compared to the menus at the hotels.

NIGHTLIFE
The two hotels in Jendouba have bars. Hotel Simitthu is by far the nicest of the two.

CHANGE MONEY
Banks in town that will give you the standard service of cash withdrawals on your VISA and MasterCard, as well as change foreign currencies.

TRANSPORT
If you don't have your own transportation, getting from Jendouba to Bulla Regia, will involve renting a taxi.
Good connections with buses and shared taxis from Jendouba. The train is another, and more pleasant option, and it can get you into Tunis in 2 h 30 m.

IMPORTANT
Bulla Regia is the place in northern Tunisia that first gets hot in summer, and children, older people and anyone with a health condition should take all necessary precautions.
