Prison camps  On the other side of the marble mountain from the city of Chemtou, the prison camps for up 20,000 lie. These were the men working in the quarries. The area is best to see from the mountain top of the Numidian altar and Roman temple, where you get a grip of the size and layout. Yet, large parts have not yet been excavated.
