One side the original Byzantine fortress has survived well into modern times, despite total neglect and the nearby village with its constant needs for building material. The fortress was originally 35 times 41 metres. The present structure only 4 times 10 metres, with a heigh of about 7 metres. It is still quite attractive, especially with a housing field as backdrop. It is fenced off, and some locals will ask you for money to enter. I was asked for 3TD, but refused to pay, and found an entrance on the back.
