SIRESSI:
Hill-top temple
Siressi, Tunisia

The caretaker of Siressi did not know for sure to whom this temple was dedicated, but he had heard the name "Caracalla" mentioned by foreign archaeologists coming here. Caracalla was a 3rd century CE Roman emperor.
Set in the forest on the hilltop, most of the views of the ancient city are gone, but it is easy to imagine the awe the Romans must have felt at this place.

Inside the temple, note the circular stone which was used as door. Never seen that anywhere else before!
