TUNIS:
Modern town

Avenue Bourguiba.

The modern town is clearly the weakest part of Tunis. The houses often look a bit communistic, and quality was apparently not important when they were erected by the modern state of Tunisia. Some of the more dominating examples are 3 hotels, Africa, International and the inverted pyramid of Du Lac.
Fortunately, today's Tunisian architecture has reclaimed its former quality and creativity.

Hotel International.
