ZRIBA:
Religious buildings
Zriba Qadima, Tunisia

Zriba Qadima, Tunisia

Zriba Qadima, Tunisia

In Zriba, the mosque has lost its function, has been left to its own (two upper photos). If thing disintegrates like it has elsewhere, the minaret should fall to the ground in few years.
The zawiyya is another matter. It was undergoing total reconstruction when I visited in September 2005. At that point things look awful, with the whole building in concrete, but once it has been painted it will look nice. Of the original zawiyya little has survived, except the mihrab, which you can see on the lowest photo, and the decorations around the northern entrance.
