This museum is one of Turkey's most important in terms of archaeology. Being the home of some the best finds from the numerous ruins of southern Anatolia, it serves as a good place either to begin or end a round trip. Exhibits span the Stone and Bronze Ages, through the Mycenaean, Classical and Hellenistic periods. The main exhibits are found in the Hall of Gods, with many great statues. The museum is open daily except Monday 9.00-19.30, entrance fee is 15 lira. The museum is located 2 km west of town centre, and can easily be reached by tram (get off at Müze).
