KEKOVA ISLAND
Submerged Antiquity

Kekova Island is often referred to as Kekova Adası.
Kekova Island is a delight for visitors. Submerged 6 metres below the sea are the quarters of an ancient town. Some claim that the original city cannot be identified, others that it is the residential quarters of to Simena. will fascinate young and old. Of obvious reasons, still regretfully, stopping, swimming and even photographing the spot is not allowed.
The location below the sea is result of several great earthquakes in the 2nd century CE. What can be seen are foundations of buildings, staircases and the old harbour.
