Bardo Museum, Algiers, Algeria

Quite so attractive, the Bardo may possibly challenge its exhibits.

The Bardo Museum is devoted to history and archeaology. There are some fine exhibits of rock carvings from Tassili N'Ajjer. The building itself is also of interest, built as a residence for a Tunisian prince. The museum is open all days except Friday. Open 9.00-12.00 and 13.00-16.30, Saturdays from 13.00-16.30. Admission fee is DA20/10.
What you find at the Bardo, could well be put on display also in National Museum of Antiquities. It has a wide and rewarding exhibition, but there are fairly few spectacular items. Same admission as for the Bardo: open all days except Friday. Open 9.00-12.00 and 13.00-16.30, Saturdays from 13.00-16.30. Admission fee is DA20/10.
